Japan Airlines receives the Highest ratings by Skytrax and APEX

International air transport rating organization, Skytrax has certified Japan Airlines (JAL) with 5-star COVID-19 Airlines Safety Ratings in the results announced on July 17 at the annual award ceremony. Japan Airline became the 11th airline to get the Skytrax 5 star ratings. Japan Airlines (JAL) have enhanced JAL flysafe measures at the airport and onboard. 

Edward Plaisted of Skytrax said “Japan Airlines is a consistent industry leader in matters of cleanliness and hygiene, and we are delighted to see that the airline has reinforced these already robust protocols to lower the risks of coronavirus transmission. The airline has applied a great deal of Japanese logic and efficiency in the setup of high-movement areas such as check-in, boarding, and arrival, and has introduced practical and genuinely useful technologies to assist customers on their journey. The combination of factors here is vital to reinforce confidence in air travel.”

Diamond certification by APEX health safety 

Japan Airlines becomes the first airline in Japan to receive diamond certification. The certification is received for providing the highest level of safety measures throughout the travel experience. The JAL’s covid 19 safety measures were validated through a 58 point checklist conducted by Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) and Simpliflying. The three levels of airline certifications are Gold, Platinum or Diamond status. Japan Airlines was awarded a Diamond Certification as it exceeds all category and health safety audits. 

SimpliFlying Chief Executive Officer, Shashank Nigam, said “Japan Airlines has raised the bar for health safety in the industry by initiatives, such as enhanced cleaning of key touchpoints especially cabin lavatories. Taking such hospital-grade measures in ensuring health safety will help bolster trust among travellers,” he added.

Japan Airlines have introduced key safety measures under its Flysafe measure COVID 19 program. It also implemented Guidelines described by Civil Aviation organizations (CART) Council Aviation Recovery Task Force Take-off Guidance2.
