CDC Updated guidance for fully vaccinate

The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention announced revised guidelines for fully vaccinated people for domestic Travel. According to the new guideline, fully vaccinated people can resume domestic travel and don’t need a test before or after travel, and no self-quarantine after travel. Unless it is a requirement by the destination, fully vaccinated people travelling out of the United States do not need to get tested or self-quarantine after arriving back in the United States.

People are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after their 2 doses for Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and 2 weeks after the single-dose vaccine of Johnson and Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.

Domestic Travel Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People

Fully vaccinated people can Travel safely within the United States. The following steps need to be followed by fully vaccinated people.

During Travel
1] Masks are mandatory on all Public Transport.
2] Maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet/ 2 meters
3] Wash your hand regularly or use a hand sanitiser with at least 60% alcohol.

After Travel
1] Isolate and get tested if you develop symptoms of COVID-19
2] Follow the Guidelines by State and Local Authorities
3] If you have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 3 months or is fully vaccinated then you don’t need to get tested or self-quarantine.

Domestic Travel Recommendations for Unvaccinated people

You need to get tested 1 to 3 days before travel if you are not fully vaccinated.

While Travelling
1] Masks are mandatory on all Public Transport.
2] Maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet/ 2 meters
3] Wash your hand regularly or use a hand sanitiser with at least 60% alcohol.

After Travel
1] After 3 to 5 days get tested with a Viral Test. Self-quarantine for 7 days.
2] If you don’t get tested, self-quarantine for 10 days.
3] Monitor for COVID-19 symptoms. Isolate and get tested you develop symptoms.
4] Follow all State and Local authorities guidelines.

International Travel Recommendations

1] Make sure to check the guidelines for International arrivals for your destination.
2] Unless your destinations require it, you do not need to get tested before leaving the United States
3] You need to produce the Negative test result or documentation of recovery before boarding a flight to the United States.

After Travel
1] All passengers coming to the United States are required to have a negative COVID-19 test no more than 3 days before travel or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 3 months.
2] You should still get Tested 3 – 5 days after International travel.
3] You do not need to self-quarantine after arriving in the United States.
